CHRISTMAS SERVICES

Why not come along to our Family Crib Service on Christmas Eve at 6pm?

This is a wonderful family service which includes our blessing of the Crib and a Nativity play by some of our talented youngsters.  It is normally a very popular service and helps the younger ones get an experience of the true meaning of Christmas.  We always sing some lovely carols to get everyone in the mood for Christmas Day and it's a wonderful service for the whole family to come along to.

We also have a Midnight Mass at 11.30pm on Christmas Eve.  This is a candle-lit service which heralds the birth of Jesus and is a wonderful celebration service for those who love traditional Christmas celebrations.

Our Family Eucharist on Christmas Day is at 10am or if you prefer we also have a spoken Eucharist at 8am on Christmas morning.

On 27th December at 4pm we have our Community Carol service and would be thrilled if you could join us at any (or all) of these services.

If you have family staying over Christmas or friends over, then please invite them to any of our services.  You'll be made most welcome!

Hope we see you there . . .

REMEMBRANCE DAY 8th NOVEMBER

Our Remembrance day service will be held at 10am and St John's congregation will also be joining us for this service.  Various uniformed organisations also join us for this service and we would love it if you could join us too.  This is always a very special and poignant service and a very special way to remember those who sacrificed themselves for us to enjoy the peace we have today.

Those who are able, are invited to walk to the Seaton Burn War Memorial to continue the remembrance service.  For those who would prefer, or are unable to walk that far, then the Revd Joan Ross from St John's will lead the traditional service of Remembrance in Church.  Refreshments will be served in our Hall after the service.

Please join us for this special service.

HARVEST FESTIVAL

Our Harvest Festival celebration service takes place on Sunday 4th October at 10am.  This is a beautiful service which shows off our Church at it's best and gives us all a chance to celebrate another wonderful year.  We take this opportunity to thank God for all of his wonderful gifts and we take a minute to appreciate what we have in life and how lucky we are.

It would be lovely to see you join us at this service.  It's a very family friendly service and children, both young and old, are very welcome to join us.  We don't mind a bit of noise during our family services so please don't be afraid to come along and join in.

In October we also have another service at 10am which takes place on 11th October during which a baptism service will also be taking place.

Once again please feel free to join us.  You'll be made most welcome.

FAIR

Our Fair takes place on Saturday 12th September between 11.30am and 2.30pm.  We will have loads of stalls and attractions on the day to make it an enjoyable place to be!

Love cakes?  Then why not come along to purchase one of our gorgeous home baked cakes?  Whatever your preference there is bound to be one (or two) that take your fancy.  We’ll have loads of home made jams and marmalades too.  There’s also drinks and light lunches available so you don’t have to rush away.

As always, we have our ever popular bottle tombola ran by our Men’s Group, or if that doesn’t take your fancy then for those of you with a sweet tooth, there will be an alternative Chocolate Tombola ran by our Ladies’ Group.  Who do you think will win . . . Ladies or Men???

Fancy a good read with your chocolate tombola winnings then why not browse our book stall?  There’ll be something to suit everyone and as we all know there’s nothing nicer than a nice glass of wine (or beer), a bar of chocolate and a good read.  You can get it all at our Fair.

For the children among you (that includes adults too) we are also having a bouncy castle at the event and face painting.  Ever fancied being a bouncing tiger or a leaping lion – with face paints and a bouncy castle you can be either!  There’s a toy stall at the fair too to keep the children entertained while you enjoy your lunch.

Why not come along and join in this lovely day?  We’ll be praying for good weather but whatever happens there’ll be something for everyone.

It’s a good idea to chat to us too and find out a little bit about what goes on at St Columba’s.

We’re not just a church, we’re a community!

Please come and visit us!
